BIKE SMART – TERMS & CONDITIONS OF TRAINING

CANCELLATION – Customers who wish to cancel their training with Bike Smart must give 14 days notice for full test training and 7 days notice for CBT training. The full cost of any allocated training will be charged if insufficient notice of cancellation is given.
NON ATTENDANCE – Failure to attend a booked course of training without prior agreement will incur the loss of any deposit and any balance owing to cover the full cost of that training. Unattended periods of training will be charged at the full rate for the relevant period of non attendance.

Any customer who is unable to attend or complete their training due to; incorrect or incomplete paper work, is inappropriately dressed for safe motorcycle riding, late attendance, failing the eyesight test or their own vehicle being defective, will be charged at our standard rates for any additional training.

TRAINING SCHOOL MOTORCYCLES – motorcycles supplied as part of a training course are subject to a £500.00 insurance excess. Students causing damage to a school vehicle will be liable to the repair costs up to the maximum of £500.00, being the maximum liability of the insurance excess.
MOTORCYCLE HIRE – Bike Smart vehicles are insured for Third Party Fire & Theft. Any vehicle hired, other than for training purposes and accompanied by an instructor, is subject to a £500.00 insurance excess charge should any damage occur to the hire vehicle. Full terms and conditions of hire are attached to the hire documents.

Bike Smart and its instructors will endeavour to complete all training as agreed with our customers. We reserve the right to change or cancel training dates and courses if events beyond our control require such action, such as unsafe weather conditions, mechanical failure or cancellations by the Driving Standard Agency.

All customers attending motorcycle training should have read and understood the Highway Code. Training will be terminated if a Bike Smart instructor deems the training to be unsafe due to a lack of comprehension relating to the Highway Code.

All fees will be paid in full prior to commencement of training.
No responsibility will be taken if students give inaccurate or misleading information resulting in an inappropriate course being booked.

If a continuous course is booked with the CBT being day 1 and the customer fails to reach the required standard, this will put the rest of the course in jeopardy resulting in the remaining course cost being lost. We always recommend that novice students only book and complete the CBT course before booking further training.

Motorcycling can be hazardous; Bike Smart cannot accept liability for any damage or injuries sustained during the course of training.

Acceptance of these conditions will be presumed when booking or attending a course of training, unless otherwise stated before the commencement of training.
